Some things can only be said in paint
Every piece of art is somebody telling you something. Dev Art Store exists to hand people the means to do it — paint, paper, brushes, books — and a wall to hang the results on.
How it started
Why this shop exists
Buying art materials online is a mess of near-identical listings and almost no real information. Nobody tells you which paper actually takes a wet wash, or which brush still holds a point after the tenth use. Meanwhile the thing you were trying to make gets further away.
So we started writing it down — what we use, what we gave up on, and why. This shop is that list with the duds removed, so the material stops being the story and the work can be.

Materials
Paints, brushes, papers and canvas from makers who have been at it long enough to get boring — which is exactly what you want holding your story up.

Books
Monographs, technique manuals and the odd zine — other people's stories, and how they told them. The kind you keep open beside you.

Original work
Paintings and prints from our own studio, released in small batches. Each one is a story told once. When it is gone, it is gone.
Nobody remembers the brush. They remember what you said with it.

Start with something small
A sketchbook, a decent brush, one tube of paint you actually like. That is usually enough to start saying something again.
